Hot days, after asana, during travel or after illness are just a few of the times where we can use some natural rehydration. This recipe is tasty, simple and instantly hydrating.
Traveling? Make up this recipe in bulk and store it in airport-friendly three-ounce bottles. Just drink one bottle every four hours on the day that you are traveling. This balances the drying effects of air travel.
Simple Rehydration Drink
Serves 1
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Augmenting
You'll need
1 Tbsp. honey
10 drops fresh lime or lemon juice
1/4 tsp. mineral salt
Here's how
Thoroughly mix ingredients with 8 ounces of warm water. Sip and enjoy.
Notes: We suggest using warm water in contrast to hot, as adding honey to boiling water adversely affects its healing properties.
Maple syrup may be substituted for someone with too much pitta. We don’t recommend using sugar, jaggery or turbinado.
