In 2004 I took my first Yoga class in high school gym. In the poses, I felt deeply connected to myself and my strength for the first time. I began to practice asana daily. In a Yoga class in 2007, my teacher introduced me to Ayurveda. I was immediately drawn to Ayurveda, particularly because the explanation of vata dosha allowed me to finally make sense of difficult digestion and menstruation experiences.
The Ayurvedic emphasis on food and digestion led me to pursue a PhD in nutrition. During my graduate studies, I saw that ancient wisdom has been forgotten or overlooked in modern nutrition and health. After graduation in 2015, I returned my focus to studying and then teaching Ayurveda and Yoga, focusing on women’s health.
When I learned of Myraji and Hale Pule in 2018, I knew that I had found my teacher and Ayurvedic home. I connected with Myraji’s clear explanations of nature, the emphasis on sattva, and her teachings deeply rooted in ancient traditions. I completed the Ayurvedic Health Counselor program in 2022. I am profoundly grateful for the transformation that these teachings have brought to my life.
It's a blessing to support the Hale Pule community, supporting current students, seeing clients as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and interacting with the global Sangha community.
I live in Buffalo, New York, USA with my husband and son. I'm happiest when we're by the shores (or in the water!) of Lake Erie.
